Terms of Service
Plain-language summary: These Terms govern your use of CrewBrief, a personal life-operations dashboard for pilots and other shift-driven professionals. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. Read them — they include real disclaimers about what CrewBrief is and is not, particularly that it is not medical, financial, or flight-safety advice.
1. Acceptance and scope
By accessing or using CrewBrief ("we", "us", "the Service") at crewbrief.co or via any official CrewBrief client, you ("you", "user") agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service is offered worldwide to individuals 18 years of age or older. CrewBrief is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
2. Eligibility and account responsibilities
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- You are responsible for providing accurate information at signup and for keeping it current.
- One account per person. Sharing credentials, sessions, or tokens between people is prohibited.
- You may use the Service on a reasonable number of personal devices owned or controlled by you. Bulk device farming, remote-shell automation, or sharing your passkey/session with anyone else is a violation.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us at security@crewbrief.co if you suspect unauthorized access.
3. Subscription, billing, and trial
- CrewBrief offers a 14-day free trial on signup. No charge during the trial.
- After the trial, the Service is $19 USD per month or $190 USD per year, billed via Stripe.
- You may cancel anytime through the Stripe Customer Portal accessible from within the dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Referral credit: every verified referral grants the referring user and the referred user 30 additional days of paid access. Credit is non-transferable and has no cash value.
- Refunds: we do not refund partial months or unused portions of a subscription term, except where required by applicable law. If you believe you were charged in error, email security@crewbrief.co within 30 days and we will review in good faith.
- Prices are exclusive of taxes; you are responsible for any taxes due in your jurisdiction.
- We may change prices on 30 days' notice via email and an in-dashboard banner. Continued use after the price change effective date constitutes acceptance.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, or otherwise programmatically harvest data from the Service except via an official CrewBrief API issued to you.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute CrewBrief output to third parties.
- Run automated bots, headless agents, or load testing against the Service without prior written permission.
- Reverse engineer the Service except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law.
- Use the Service to violate any law, regulation, airline policy, or third-party right.
- Upload malware, attempt to compromise security, or interfere with other users.
- Use the Service to make decisions that require a licensed professional (see Section 6).
We may rate-limit, throttle, or suspend accounts that we reasonably believe are in violation.
5. Data ownership and portability
- You own the data you submit to CrewBrief (flight schedules, health data, financial entries, notes, chat history).
- You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to process and display that data solely to provide the Service to you and the people you explicitly share with (e.g., a linked spouse). We do not sell your data, do not share it with advertisers, and do not use it for credit, employment, or lending decisions.
- You can request an export of your data at any time from within the dashboard or by emailing security@crewbrief.co. Exports are provided in machine-readable format (JSON / CSV).
- Deletion: you can delete your account from within the dashboard. We will purge your data within the windows defined in the Data Retention Policy.
6. Disclaimers — important
CrewBrief is an informational and organizational tool. It is not a substitute for professional advice.
- Not medical advice. Health metrics, sleep targets, nutrition guidance, recovery scores, and any AI-generated commentary on your health data are informational only and are not a diagnosis, treatment, or medical recommendation. Always consult a licensed physician for medical decisions, prescription dosing, or interpretation of bloodwork.
- Not financial advice. Budgets, retirement projections, spending analysis, and AI insights about your finances are informational only and are not investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice. Consult a licensed financial advisor, CPA, or attorney before making financial decisions.
- Not flight-safety-of-life advice. Landing briefs, layover briefs, NOTAM summaries, weather summaries, fatigue risk scores, and any aviation-related output are operational aids only and do not replace the official sources, your airline's published procedures, FAA / EASA / ICAO regulations, or your professional judgment as Pilot in Command. Do not rely on CrewBrief for safety-of-life decisions in the cockpit. Always cross-check against official METAR/TAF, NOTAM, dispatch, and flight-manual sources before operating.
- AI output is probabilistic. Outputs from the in-app AI ("Bob" / "Joe" / similar) can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. Verify before acting.
- Third-party data. Plaid (banking), Apple Health, airline systems (e.g., AIMS), weather providers, and Telegram are independent services. We are not responsible for their accuracy, availability, or outages.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.
7. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- Our aggregate liability to you for any and all claims arising out of or relating to the Service is capped at the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars ($100).
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost revenues, lost data, or business interruption, even if advised of the possibility.
- Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the extent permitted by law.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CrewBrief, its operator, and any affiliates from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of any third-party right.
9. Termination
- By you: cancel anytime from the Stripe Customer Portal or by emailing security@crewbrief.co. You retain access through the end of your paid period.
- By us: we may suspend or terminate your account immediately, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms, present a security or fraud risk, or use the Service in a way that materially harms other users or the platform.
- On termination, your data will be deleted per the Data Retention Policy. Export your data first if you want a copy.
10. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. You and CrewBrief consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, for any dispute arising under these Terms.
Where required by mandatory local law (e.g., for EU/UK consumers), nothing in this section overrides your statutory rights.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified at least 30 days in advance via:
- An email to the address on file, and
- A persistent banner in the dashboard linking to the updated Terms.
Continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, cancel before the effective date.
12. Miscellaneous
- Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder of these Terms remains in effect.
- No waiver. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Data Retention Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
- Assignment. You may not assign your rights without our written consent. We may assign to a successor in connection with a merger or sale of assets.
